Yonatan Dvir is an Israeli-Italian conductor, composer, orchestrator, and arranger based in Los Angeles, CA. Recently, he has worked as guest conductor with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra and the Susquehanna Symphony Orchestra, as lead orchestrator for projects such as Red Bull Symphonic X Asake, and as assistant to the National Symphony Orchestra in Santiago, Chile.

 

In 2025, Yonatan was also an associate conductor with the Cabrillo Festival Orchestra, as well as a Conducting Fellow at OAcademy under the guidance of Carlos Miguel Prieto. In 2022, he was a conducting fellow with the Chamber Orchestra of Belgrade. 

Along his work as an orchestral conductor, Yonatan is an active orchestrator and arranger. Recent engagements include Jon Batiste, Ledisi, the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, the San Bernardino Symphony Orchestra, and music preparation services for the Philadelphia Orchestra and RISE 2026

In his time at Eastman, he has collaborated and performed with, the Eastman Film and Media Ensemble, OSSIA New Music Ensemble, the Eastman Chamber Orchestra, and other independent performances.

As a composer, he has had several works premiered with ensembles such as the Jasper Quartet (May 2022), projects like NPR's 'From the Top' (2024), the Temple University New Music Ensemble (2019-2022), and Contemplum’s SoundPrints concert series (2020-2022). He has also participated in masterclasses with Samuel Adler, and George Tsontakis.​

Yonatan is a recent graduate of the Eastman School of Music, where he earned a Master's Degree in Orchestral Conducting. During that time he served as assistant conductor to the Eastman School Symphony Orchestra and the Eastman Philharmonia. Yonatan holds a Bachelor in Music Composition from Temple University, which he obtained in December 2022. Additionally, he is the recipient of the Milan Conservatory prize in piano studies (2017) – where he studied trombone performance and composition - and the Frances G. Lumsden memorial scholarship (2020). 

 

Among his mentors are Anthony Parnther, Neil Varon, and Andreas Delfs.
